My focus as a mental health therapist is to provide a non-judgmental, safe space so clients can be successful in making the change they want for their lives. I strive to encourage and guide my clients to recognize and be inspired by their own progress.
After receiving my master’s degree in Clinical Counseling from Trinity Washington University in 2013, I have been practicing professional counseling for the past 11 years. I currently maintain multiple certifications for treatment with trauma, ADHD, informed sex therapy, and problematic sexual behaviors. My areas of specialization include trauma, ADHD, anxiety, life transitions/re-entry adjustment, addictions, sexual health and dysfunctions, and sexual abuse/sexually inappropriate behaviors. While providing individual, group, and family counseling services, I also complete psychosexual evaluations for adolescents and adults. I work with all age ranges starting at four years old and am experienced working with individuals, groups, and families. My treatment focuses on a holistic approach treating the body, mind, and soul. I believe empathy, understanding, and assertiveness are the key components to a positive and beneficial therapeutic relationship where the client’s point of view, orientation, self-report, and awareness are respected. Sessions will utilize a person-centered foundation, allowing the client to lead the session for their desired focus. Interventions will be structured in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to increase the visibility of the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is also a modality I utilize to treat trauma, anxiety, and additional triggers of distress. For children and adolescent clients, play, expressive, sand tray, and bibliotherapy are additional modalities utilized.
