Greetings!! I am a former IT programmer/analyst who went back to graduate school at Argosy University in Sarasota, to obtain my Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling in May of 2013. I am now a licensed mental health counselor, working primarily with adolescents and adults, as well as couples and families.
I am Adoption certified and specialize in working in women’s issues, as
well as trauma and grief and loss. Additionally, I am trained in EMDR, Child
Parent Psychotherapy and TF-CBT, knowledgeable about FASD (fetal
alcohol syndrome) and have extensive experience in substance abuse,
having worked as a residential counselor for Haven Recovery and
Salvation Army. I have also worked for A Helping Hand, Neighbor to
Family and Circle of Friends for dependency cases, at Saafe Behavioral
Services in DeLand and am now happily working at Lakeside since October
If you are depressed, anxious, or dealing with a significant life change such as a breakup, job loss or family conflict, I believe that everyone needs an ear to talk to sometimes, and it’s so helpful to have a nonjudgmental person to work with. So often, our lives are filled with communication issues, addiction or relationship problems and we don’t know where to turn. Sometimes one’s angst has been there since childhood, and many know they need help, but just need guidance on how to begin. Don’t deny yourself the chance to be empowered!
Lakeside Counseling is proud to contract with Brenda Rockwell. Brenda is currently available to schedule new clients.
